Replaced HD couple of years ago. That's not alway a solition but a contributing factor to more headaches. A freeze could also be the result of overheating. I looked in Event Viewer and for both times when my computer froze today, in the Application Log, it had errors for a source from "VSS" and "Event Manager". have a peek here
