When I try to change it back to my original resolution, the 1280x800 resolution is not available. Unable to find an answer, I finally installed a program that remembers my settings so I can restore them. Hope something helps. Right clicked on all apps in Start menu then left click on Properties, then click on Compatibility tab to see if 640x480 box was checked. not 100% sure but believe i cured it by going into control panel and changing things from there.. Once I noticed this I have no problem.I use the 1024 screen setting and Roxio likes a much higher resolution as does the games. Have you uninstalled the graphics driver & reinstalled it ? I seriously do not think it's a driver corruption problem.
