The problem is the SEARCH function is simply not operating and with eveything I have tried, nothing is even remotely close to why its happening. While I cannot say why search in Windows 10 is not working at times, I have found a fix for the issue that worked 100% on the affected system so far. To do the latter, type Disk Cleanup in the Start search box, right-click on the first item and choose Run as Administrator. Killing Cortana worked for me too.
